Blog

I have decided that I will offer my talents as an artist for commissioned portraits and other types of paintings. So, today I made a page on my website https://www.rbchristianartist.com/page/42144/commissions for that purpose. This page explains pricing, how I work and the time needed to complete a commission.

I'm not sure how many folks will seek me out for this service or whether their is even much of a demand for commissioned portraits in todays economy. However, I am hopeful to get to meet some nice people and am excited to see where it leads me. I've completed a few portraits but I've never actually hired myself out to do it before.

I recently completed a painting of Rev. Roger Grist because I wanted to honor him as my long time friend and Rector of my church. I spent several months working on it and now that it is completed, we will be hosting a gallery night at my home and we will have an unveiling of the painting and will have some wine and orderves. This will be the icing on the cake for me. I am so excited for him and his wife Nancy to see it and to also share with our church community. Art should be shared and richly enjoyed by all.

I also entered my painting of Rev. Grist into the January Bold Brush Art Competition. I think its really a great painting and I hope that it is at least noticed. There are some super talented artists in the competition and so we shall see.

So, today I took a break from  painting to work on the business end of painting by setting up the page on my website and now the preparation of this blog.

Highest Regards to all!
